Baroness X: The Lost Coast Collection

Hey guys! So today I've got the upcoming Baroness X collection to show you! This is The Lost Coast Collection and it's inspired by Fort Bragg, California and the area north of there known as The Lost Coast of Northern California. There are five polishes in this collection and the first 50 people to purchase the full set will also receive a 2 oz. hydrating matte lotion and a 4 oz. salty, fizzy foot soak in the hot buttered rum scent.

First up we have the topper of the collection, Kalidotide. This polish was inspired by abalone shells and is a green to purple shifting base with pink glass flakies, clear indigo microglitter, and various orange to green shifting glitter. It is not intended to be a stand alone polish. It's sheer and there will absolutely be visible nail line. It should also be noted that this polish looks better sponged rather than painted as it contains a pigment that tends to be streaky. Demi will be including a make up sponge for application with these orders.

I decided to pair this with Femme Fatale's Cinderella and I gotta be honest, I love the results. It's delicate and it pops great over it. This is two coats sponged over Cinderella with a glossy top coat. There are also a few swatches of it over some polishes in this collection below.

Next up is Glass Beach. This polish was inspired by the famous glass beach in Fort Bragg. The rocks near the shore create a natural tumbler for all the glass and trash that was dumped in the ocean back in the early 1900's. The result is a beach full of smooth glass in an array of colors.

Okay, so this polish is flipping everything. It is so gorgeous. I had a few issues with getting the glitter to sit and stay where I wanted it, but that could be solved by having some patience and waiting for each layer to dry decent before applying the next (clearly I have none). I found best application involves thin layers and patience between them. This is most definitely a three coater to get full opacity though. Shown below is three coats with a glossy top coat. Side note: You might be able to see just a little bit of visible nail line in some, but you can't see that in person. Also, my visible nail line is intense. So just keep that in mind.

Next up in the collection is Gleam. Gleam is the cousin polish to La Luz 2.0 (which is one of my favorite purples ever!). This polish was inspired by the sun reflecting off of the water during the day and I think that translates wonderfully in the polish. It's a pale blue base with a peachy shimmer, green microflakies, and holo microglitter. The peachy shimmer likes to hide in photos but it's noticeable in person.

The way the light hits the holo and shimmer honestly reminds me of so many summer days spent out on the boat watching the sunlight glitter on the water. Application and opacity are both fantastic. Shown below is two coats with a glossy top coat.

Shown below is Gleam with two coats of Kalidotide sponged over it and a glossy top coat. Sponging was easy-peasy and it looks fantastic! This was shot using the same lighting set up as above, but in indirect light to show the flakies and shimmer better. It positively glows in low lighting in a way that my camera can't do justice.

Next up in Penumbra. This polish was inspired by the ocean in the early evening when a fog is rolling in. It's a denim blue linear holo in the sun and a navy blue indoors with a silver micro fleck finish.

This polish totally reminds me of my favorite pair of blue jeans. Denim as a description is spot on. Application is great with this one too. Silky smooth going on with great coverage. Not a one coater, but two coats is great. Shown below is two coats with a glossy top coat.

Below is Penumbra with two coats of Kalidotide sponged over it. I think I like this better over Gleam than I do this one (I like the more delicate feel it has to it), but I will say that it pops way more in low light over Penumbra.

And last, but not least, we have Sequoia Gigantea. This polish was inspired by the sun shining through the trees in the redwood forests. It's a brown jelly base with a copper to green shifting shimmer (the ever elusive unicorn pee pigment!) with green to blue shifting flakies and a dusting of super fine holo microglitter.

Can you tell from the bottle shot that this polish is insanely shifty? That's that coveted unicorn pee pigment. I'll tell you what, this polish was a pain in the butt to get good photos of. There's so much going on that my camera had a hard time focusing and picking up what I wanted. But holy cow. It's so beautiful! This is an amazing polish for fall. Vampy, shifty, and glowing. This actually had much better opacity than I was expecting from a jelly polish. I still did three coats though but there is zero sign of visible nail line. This is three coats with a glossy top coat.

Whew! Now that we've made it through the swatches how about those extras? First there is the hydrating matte hand lotion in a hot buttered rum scent and it. is. divine. To me it smells exactly like Jelly Belly Buttered Popcorn jelly beans. Like spot on. The hydrating matte lotion is a very light lotion that absorbs quickly. So it's great for on the go when you don't have time to deal with greasy hands, but not what I would call a heavy duty moisturizer. I may or may not have these scattered pretty much every where I go (okay, I do. I totally do).

Next up we have the salty, fizzy foot soak in hot buttered rum scent. This smells even better than the lotion and if I could roll around in it I would. I had to settle for just soaking my feet in it and enjoying the scent wafting through the air. No pictures of my feet because I hate them and have tiny sausage toes, but suffice to say this left my feet feeling wonderful. Trust me. You want this. You want this bad.

So by now I'm sure you have questions. Questions like: So when and where is this happening? How much is this going to cost me? Am I going to have to sell a kidney for this? Good news is no, no you will not have to sell a kidney. This collection is quite affordable! Here's the details of what's going down:

When: Saturday, September 17th at 2pm PT/5pm ET
Where: BaronessX.com
Price: $10-$13 for individual bottles, $50 for full size set (15ml), $30 for mini size set (8ml)

Remember! The first 50 people to purchase the full size set for $50 (Baroness X always offers free shipping at $50!) will also get the 4oz hydrating matte lotion and salty, fizzy foot soak as a bonus! There are no extras included with the mini set. So which is your favorite? I'm having such a hard time deciding which polish is my favorite in this collection. I think it's going to have to be a tie between Glass Beach and Sequoia Gigantea. Are you looking forward to this collection? Let me know in the comments!
