Femme Fatale: Art of Witchcraft

Wednesday, August 31, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

Kinda keeping it regular on updates this week! Today I've got Art of Witchcraft from Femme Fatale Cosmetics. So honestly... when I first saw this polish it did not look like I thought it would based on swatches I saw. I honestly thought it was going to be a bit more blue than teal. I think that might be due to different lighting/skin tone honestly though. There were times in certain lighting that it looked like the swatches I saw, but most of the time it looks like my swatches (which are color accurate on my computer/phone/tablet as close as they can be, but this polish is a tricky one imho).

Okay, so that being said this polish is still fantastically beautiful and I love it. It's complex, deep, and super sparkly... if you know me you know how much that speaks to my soul. It's a teal jelly packed with magenta flakies/shimmer, gold microglitter, and holo glitters. It is mesmerizing and oh so gorgeous. I had no issues with application other than since it's a jelly to make sure you give enough time between coats for it to dry so it doesn't drag and leave bald spots. Pretty basic, but I'm guilty of being impatient and mucking it up a time or two before I finally slow down. This is three coats topped with two coats of Seche Vite (I need total smoothness. Textures bother me. Don't judge.).

Femme Fatale recently launched a website for it's US customers to purchase from that ships out of warehouse here in the states. You can find that located here, but Art of Witchcraft isn't currently stocked there. However, it's still carried by almost every stockist and is readily available. You can find a list of stockists here. It ranges in price depending on which stockist you purchase from. My go to stockists are BeautometryColor4Nails, and Shiro Cosmetics. They're the most affordable.

Baroness X: La Luz 2.0 & Bodhi Tree

Monday, August 29, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

Today we have... more swatches I've been sitting on for ages! Wooo! Baroness X is a fairly new to me brand (as in I just started collecting them this year), but man... Demi's polishes are something else. I've gotten to the point in my collection where I'm being much more picky about buying and looking for polishes that really stand out to me as unique. Baroness X totally and completely delivers that for me. I've got two of them to show you today, La Luz 2.0 and Bodhi Tree.

Let's start with La Luz 2.0. This polish is like a light orchid purple that has this gorgeous blue shimmer and holo to make it all pop. This is hands down one of my favorite purples ever. A little bit on the thick side, but easily manageable to work with. All swatches are three coats topped with Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

Next up we have Bodhi Tree. Every month Demi has a  Mythical Monthly Mystery polish which includes a polish (duh, obviously) and two other goodies which vary with each month. Bodhi Tree was June's polish and is probably my favorite out of the few I have so far. This polish came with sugar baubles and matte lotion in a Sacred Fig scent (neither of those pictured because they're done and gone - used those bad boys right up). You can't buy this one currently, but Demi has said that it's going to make a comeback, so keep your eyes peeled for it!

Bodhi Tree is a purple base that is packed full of blue shimmer and flakies with a pinch of holo for extra sparkle. This one is thinner than La Luz 2.0 and applies very easily and smoothly. This is three coats topped with Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

I seriously love both of these polishes so much. Doomfire is what caught my attention, these two are what solidified me as a Baroness X fan. La Luz 2.0 is currently available on the Baroness X website for $11, you can purchase it here. Bohi Tree isn't available now, but will be making a comeback in the future so keep an eye out for it! Come join us in The X Army on facebook to see sneak peeks of upcoming polishes, special sales, and group customs! Plus tbh it's just an awesome group of people, so come hang with us!

Vapid Lacquer: Ride or Die

Sunday, August 28, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

Sooo I've haven't updated in forever. Again. Sorry? Things have been incredibly hectic in life and I just honestly haven't had the time or motivation to update. It's been a really rough summer. But you know what? It's aight. Autumn is slowly coming upon us, some of my best friends are getting hitched soon, I turn 30 in October, and I'm going to Miami to celebrate. Things are looking good in the future.

But I digress. There are swatches to be had that I've been hoarding for ages. Today I have a limited edition Vapid Lacquer that came out months ago. (I did say that I had been hoarding these for ages). This is Ride or Die and it's perfection. It's a super shifty, super holo, spreads like butta perfection. Seriously, it's amazing. Just look at it!

This polish is basically everything I love about Vapid. Super holo, excellent formula and opacity. All these photos are are two coats of Ride or Die topped with Vapid's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat (which I totally, totally recommend. It's my go to QDTC). I'm super sorry that I waited so long to do this post because this polish seriously is so amazing and it's hard to find now. Snatch it up if you come across it. You won't regret it!

Side note and some shameless self promotion: I have a blog sale going on right now with some indies that I'm trying to find loving homes for. Check it out and hit me up if you're interested in buying anything.
